Sunny days call for more layers in substitute of coats and sweaters, though I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to coats yet. I have made the mistake of wearing too many heavy layers on warm days far too many times. As I am typing this, I am packing for a weekend visit to a beloved friend in the UK, where I could possibly face single-digit temperatures again. I’m proud to say that I am well-equipped to face such weather now than I was a few months ago when I first arrived here, thanks to my many visits to thrift stores and the weekly market.
Here’s a quick outfit post from a recent afternoon by the lake – I was initially a bit more daring and wanted to forego the third layer altogether, but my wiser roommate advised against it. This chambray oversized button-down is one of my favorite pieces this Spring that I picked up at a flea market back in Singapore a little more than a year ago (together with these dark gray slacks). The navy blue button-down underneath was one of my first thrift finds from the market.
