Vintage Shopping in Sheffield

I was in the UK a couple of weekends back, spending the bulk of my time in Sheffield where I was staying with a very dear friend. The very first place she took me the morning after I arrived was a vintage store called “Cow”. I looked it up and found that they have a few branches around the UK and an online store at http://www.wearecow.com (Something along the likes of Episode, which I have popped into a few times in Amsterdam). The outlet in Sheffield was painted bright yellow and stood out delightfully on Sheffield’s West Street. If you follow me on Instagram, you might recall that I posted a photo of a maxi skirt a few weeks back – I found that gem of a piece in this store, together with a bright yellow sweater that I have been wearing a lot during this Spring-to-Summer transition period (and will probably be featured in this space sometime soon).

Afterwards, we chanced upon a vintage fair that was being held in Sheffield’s town hall and of course, we had to check it out! We were so lucky to have come across Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair, which is held in several cities across the UK from time to time after starting in Sheffield in 2008. It was everything I dreamed a vintage fair would be, and there was also a corner where visitors could enjoy some tea and cakes after browsing the booths. It was absolute love!

This blazer is one of the newer additions to my wardrobe which I found at the vintage section of Rotterdam’s Blaak market. It has become one of my favourite pieces to just grab and go whenever it gets chilly outside (yes, even in Summer…) cuz it’s so easy to match with most of the outfits I put together.

Finding such treasures in the market will be one of the many things that I will miss when I head back to Singapore in a few weeks.
