For the second day of Eid/Hari Raya, I wore this deep blue bisht – a traditional Arabic garment – from local brand Oushk (pronounced ooh-shk), which manufactures their designs in the U.A.E. I found it at The Grand Bazaar, an indoor market that was held towards the end of Ramadan. The bisht has a mix of different fabrics and textures. The sleeves and middle section are soft and solid, while the rest of it is translucent, with velvety floral motifs that add a touch of class and femininity to the piece.

I wore the bisht over a white inner long-sleeved maxi dress. What I love about the bisht is how versatile it is – I switched out the maxi dress for a white long-sleeved t-shirt and flared pants later in the evening when I wanted something more comfortable to go visiting in. It also felt incredibly regal to have it on. When I draped it over my shoulders and got accustomed to the way the fabric flowed and moved around me, it felt like I was wearing a cape!

My Hijab Look

I got more confident trying a new look after Day 1. I didn’t follow any tutorials for this look – I just draped yet another piece from Nushee Nurra over my head, fastened a couple of pins here and there and found a way for it to work for me. You can tell I was a lot more comfortable this time round!

Accessories & Shoes

I LOVE these earrings. I got them as a gift for my 24th birthday – a pair of bejewelled beauties from Lovisa. As for my footwear, I wore the silver sling back heels from Charles & Keith, like I did for Day 1. I made sure that I picked a colour that could match most of my looks, so these heels will be on heavy rotation over the next few weeks.

#FOTD

I had so much fun doing my makeup for this day! For my base, I used Glossier’s Perfecting Skin Tint in Dark, followed by some contouring using Fenty Beauty’s Match Stix in Truffle and highlighting using Match Stix in Rum. I created an easy smoky eye look using Glossier’s Lidstar in Herb. To pull the entire look together, I used Fenty Beauty’s Stunna Lip Paint to create a statement red lip that would stand out against all that blue.

I must say, I am in love with how glowy my skin looks in that first image! I’ve been working hard switching up my skincare routine to get that glow for Eid. I’ll be sharing some of the products that have been working for me in my favourites post this month. Look out for it!
