The past week was spent running errands and travelling all over the country settling administrative matters for my upcoming semester. In two days, I fly to the Netherlands to study for half a year under an exchange programme with my university. I am beyond thrilled – spending 5 months abroad will probably be the biggest adventure for me yet, and as much as I am anxious about the thought of surviving in a foreign environment on my own, I am excited about the experiences that await me across these waters.
Yesterday was a very happy day for my family as my uncle finally tied the knot with his one true love. Much of the day was spent dancing, laughing, and running away from all “when is your turn?” questions. The dress code for family members was purple attire (no complaints – it’s my favourite colour!) I chose a white, gold-embroidered abaya over a lilac inner piece. This white abaya is one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe. I adore gold embroidered-anything.
I was never particularly fond of floral prints until the kimono trend hit last year and even then, it took me a (really long) while before I caved in to curiosity. I suppose that the trick to making it work was finding the right kind of floral print – I found that I was more drawn to larger, bolder prints over sweet, dainty florals (surprise, surprise!). I paired this gem of a kimono cardigan with black denim, and threw on some black leather and my favourite round shades. So much love in an outfit!
My mom has great taste! These beautiful boots belong to her.
Finally, a day chilly enough and not too humid for a sweater! Then again, it has been pretty cool here for the past few months. Thank God it’s the holiday period when I spend my time meeting and catching up with loved ones. Otherwise, I’d probably be spending everyday rolling around in bed, accomplishing nothing (as if I don’t do enough of that already).
I am absolutely in love with this sweater! Another amazing buy from the Three Blind Mice flea. The material is lovely – not too suffocating or too thick, plus, how can you say no to the detail?
I brought these lovely pants out again (from this post). I’m not quite sure how to describe them… plaid-esque/houndstooth/stripe mix? (Is there a word for this? Enlighten me!) I do wish they came with belt loops, though. Either that or that I grow big enough to fit in my pants nicely.
My glasses were missing for the longest time, but I realized that it was just a case of disorderliness on my part. These frames make me look like a confused person, so most of the day, I was walking around looking like a lost sheep. Nothing wrong with that.
