I never thought that I’d be one to mix prints but the occasion called for something a little more dressy than the usual, but nothing too over-the-top. I eased myself into print-mixing by pairing a neutral-coloured print that I’m comfortable in (my favourite – stripes!) with a fun, brighter-coloured one that gave my outfit that pop of colour it needed without being too loud. This pair of heart print jeans are in a lovely shade of dusty pink that makes for easy matching, and I absolutely love it that the hearts are actually furry (yes, furry!) and not printed onto the fabric, as they usually are. Threw on a tiny backpack and some sneakers for that extra cool, and I was good to go!

    Beating the Heat

My love for oversized garments stem from my everyday battle against the heat back in Singapore. I am in love with the fabric used for this dark blue button-down and it is extremely lightweight, therefore perfect for layering in this hot and humid weather. I have been sporting the red-and-blue combo quite frequently as of late – 3 times the past week, the last I counted – and no, it didn’t have anything to do with the 4th of July weekend about two weeks back (though I did, coincidentally, wear red, white and blue on that particular Saturday). When I’m not out in sandals, I take my trusty 4-year-old Converse sneakers out instead and they add a touch of cool to any outfit I choose for the day. If you’ve been observant over the past few months, you would have noticed that I have been paying more attention to the bags that I carry together with my outfit… this beauty here was a find from the leather market in Florence, borrowed from my sister.

Fun fact: The white maxi tank dress I’m wearing was actually worn the other way round, so that I didn’t have to deal with a low neckline in front! Gotta keep finding ways to make various pieces of clothing work for you 😉
