I’ve had my mind set on getting a pink Summer coat for a while now, so I was really glad that I chanced upon this online! I’m currently digging pastel hues and slouchy silhouettes as the daily temperatures get higher and we say goodbye to the slightly cooler, rainy months… I’ve pretty much stopped wearing long-sleeved t-shirts in the day, opting for loose blouses and lightweight, oversized outerwear instead because they’re more cooling and allow me to breathe a lot easier. These lovely shoes are a recent buy from Charles & Keith that appear to be a mix between sandals and sports sneakers, reminding me a little bit of Dior’s fusion sneakers from A/W 2014. I finished off the look with my usual black backpack and a pinkish red lip – Shiseido’s Perfect Rouge in Salon, my current go-to lip colour!

A white boyfriend shirt is an essential in any girl’s closet and I was lucky enough to have found my perfect one in the sales rack at H&M’s Menswear section (for $7, no less!). For this look, I attempted a messy tuck – not an easy feat since the shirt was crazy oversized and if done wrong, I’d look like I just got out of the loo without pulling my pants up properly. It took a few tries to get it to look decent, but I’m prepared to give it another hundred to get it right. I’m a big fan of the “Organized Mess” look and messy tucks can be charming when done well. Here I styled the shirt with a pair of joggers from a store in Korea, a royal blue shawl, some faded Converse sneakers and a blue rucksack that was a birthday gift. I finished off the look with a cateye for a change – it’s always good to switch things up a bit every now and then, eh? 😉

Happy 2015, beautiful people! It’s been a year since I started Rouge & Ruche and I have to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has been supporting the blog! I hope you are enjoying the content so far, it’s been great fun putting looks together and sharing it with you guys. Over the past year I’ve explored different styles and different ways of expressing myself through this blog. It’s been interesting figuring out what works and what doesn’t and thinking up new ideas to further grow this space. Thank you for sticking with me through it all, it means the world to me. Here’s to another good year ahead!

Kicking off the blogging year, I styled a look around this printed button-down that I found at the Blaak market in Rotterdam early last year. It came with a ribbon around the collar which wasn’t to my liking, so I cut it off before throwing it on with these faded blue slacks. My hunt for the perfect slip-ons came to an end when I found these babies in Korea a few weeks back and I absolutely adore them! I know I’m about a year late to the slip-on shoe party but hey, better late than never, right? 😉
